eyelid cancer

Post a new topicby jorges on Thu Dec 18, 2008 3:52 pm

Hi

I've had a lump inside my lower eyelid for about two months now which perfectly fits this description I've just found on this site;

"Basal cell carcinoma
Approximately 75% of cases of basal cell carcinoma of the eyelid occur on the lower lid. The lesion usually develops as a small, firm, painless nodule with a smooth, pearly appearance and may develop telangiectasia (a reddish hue caused by dilated capillaries)."

I went to my doctor and she has treated it as a cyst. Obviously I need to see her again about it, but I'd thought i'd prepare myself with some questions here first?

I have had many exposures to UVB light for my psoriasis some without goggles, but just shutting my eyes. But, recently I've been prescribed methotrexate for this which is also used in certain cases of cancer I believe.

Could the methotrexate have possibly been slowing down the rate at which my lump is progressing if it is indeed, what it seems almost inevitably likely to be?
