P.R. Quetions

Post a new topicby washy on Sun Nov 16, 2008 1:04 pm

Hi, I am 26 male, asian living in California. I was told by one retina specialist that I have parasite in my eyes causing me losing majority of my peripheral vision (not completely). I still have about 30 percent of peripheral vision left. Then I went to another retina specialist just to get a second opinion. He told me that I have Retinitis Pigmentosa.

The thing is, I have NO problem seeing at night at all... I even ride my bike at night without front light. My only problem is that I am losing my peripheral vision.

What I would like to know is that for those of you who have R.P. is it true that losing night vision is always the first thing that happens? then follow by lossing peripheral vision?
Does anyone of you who has R.P. still can see very well at night like normal people?

Those of you who has RP, can you share with me the timeline like after how many years will a person with R.P. lose his central vision completely?

Also, my eyes are irritating me a bit.. I feel burning sensation... is this a symptom of RP?

Please... Anyone with R.P. related information is welcome to reply...

I would also like to talk to someone who has R.P. or family members of R.P. patients to get to know more info.

If possible, plase provide me with either telephone number, or email or MSN messenger ID or yahoo messenger.

I would really like to keep in touch!

Thanks!

My eye doctor said it is parasite, not Retinitis Pigmentosa
