Lazy Eye

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed May 22, 2002 7:02 am

My four-year young grandaughter has just been diagnosed with a Lazy Eye. Today will be her 4th day to wear a patch and eyeglasses. The patches that she has been given are like large, round bandaids. They make her eye sweat and itch, and tear at her the tender skin around her eye when removed. Her doctor says she may have to wear this for 4 years. Where can I find some "designer" patches for her to wear, perhaps in her favorite colors, that won't be so uncomfortable and will look more festive?

Try looking on the internet for eye patches. Also, you may want to investigate the use of a drop called atropine. You put it in the good eye which blurs it, forcing the weaker eye to function. You put it in once a week usually while the child is sleeping.
