Wet Macular Degeneration, will glasses help?

Post a new topicby livingwith on Mon Sep 24, 2007 8:54 am

My father is 84 and his eye sight has been getting wrost. Over the last few months he has been to the Dr often and has been receving shots in his eyes. Recently he was told that he had what he referrs to as a blister. The shots have always helped right away, this time it hasn’t helped. Does anyone have any experience with this… he has wet Macular Degeneration. I am wondering if the glasses you can buy would help him.
Thanks for your help

My father is 86 and was just diagnosed with macular degeneracy. His close up vision is not at all good. It is to the point that the over-the-counter 3.00 reading glasses are not good enough to help him. He does have a hand-held magnifying glass that he can read with, but sometimes he needs two hands to do something (and a third to hold the magnifying glass). So I too am wondering if there are low-cost reading glasses of say 4.00 that would help him?
