You should have cataracts removed when they are very noticable to you. They gradually decreased your vision. If your vision on the eye chart is 20/50 or worse, you might want to get one eye done. In most states, there is a legal driving limit. You need to have vision that will allow you to drive safely. Look for an ophthalmologist that does cataracts and who is reputable.
